Q: How would you examine if there is any

merit in the remarks of various functional


managers?
• The remarks from various functional managers can be assessed by taking
feedback from departments regarding the difficulties faced by them during
operating in the company and trying to find solutions by developing
strategies to tackle the situations at managerial and organizational level.
• Assessing the discrepancies and lack of coordination in departments which
is leading to hinderances in other department functioning and consulting
expert to solve the complaints for smooth functioning of organization.
Q: What, in your opinion, could be the reason
for different Managerial thinking in this case?
• Each Department has its different functional and operational
duties in the organization and different managerial perception
has to be followed by the specific department and its manager.
• Each department’s staff would have different skills set and
unique way of doing tasks assigned.
• Each department’s needs for resources and technology is
different which could be unrealistic for others.
Q: How would you design a system of getting
correct information about the job status to
identify delays quickly?
In order to design such system , first we need to break down the job into different stages
including (a) Planning, (b) Execution.
A proper timely schedule for all tasks to be done should be framed for all the
departments and then the information collected should be summarized by the respective
managers of departments and then the delays recorded must be considered along with
the reasons for delays. Then if the the delays are due to lack of coordination or other
managerial aspect it must be resolved by all means. All the activities should be tracked
accordingly for delays and ensure the department works towards organizational goals
and not personal goals which would promote team spirit and unity among employees
