PUERTO PRINCESA CITY IS BORDERED BY A BAY FROM THE NORTHWEST TO THE SOUTH. THUS, THE LARGE COAST OF THE BAY ADJACENT TO THE TOWN BECAME THE PERFECT PLACE FOR THE MIGRATING POPULATION TO SQUAT.
THE RAPID DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY CULMINATED IN THE INVASION
OF SETTLERS IN PUERTO PRINCESA BAY THAT INCREASES THE NUMBER OF SLUMP AREAS ALONG THE COAST. 74%, OR 49 OF ITS 66 BARANGAYS, ARE SITUATED ON THE COASTAL FRINGES AND ARE HOME TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHOSE LIVELIHOODS ARE VITAL TO THE SEA.
