GENERAL QUESTIONS
Tell me something about your self.

I am John Ezlie and I am 19 years old and I live in the northern province. I am a
graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation at Philippine Maritime
Institute Colleges. I am the eldest son in the family and I am looking forward to work
on shipping company which can provide me a opportunity to share my salary to my
family.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?

One of my Strengths are by having a solid work ethic and I do not tolerate procrastination. I always
prefer to complete tasks well ahead of schedule. While my weaknesses are I used to like to work on
one task to its completion before starting on another, but I've learned to work on many projects at
the same time, and I think doing so allows me to be more creative and effective in each one.
Why should we hire you?

You have a slight advantage over me since you know what you're looking for and I am
still learning about your company. From what I've learned, it sounds like you are looking
for someone who will be able to handle customer concerns quickly and effectively.
Why do you apply for this position?

In my career, I am sure of one thing and that is I want to build a decent position in my
current domain. This job’s position can help me set up a strong professional life foundation 
and eventually build upon it.
Why do you want to work here?

I have been eyeing this company for a long time. I would be so excited to be a part of that
innovation here. Not only the innovativeness of the company attracts me, but also the way
they treat their employees.
What is/are your short-term goal/s?
Long term goal/s?

My short term goal is to seek and get interested in the opportunity that your company
developing. While my long term goal is to be responsible to lead a team.
Briefly describe your ideal job?

My ideal job would be anything I can do to help others, hopefully as a seafarer that makes
the economy better.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Within five years, I can see myself working at your company. It’s really important to me to
keep growing my skills and adding value to the company in new ways.
What is your salary requirement?

While I am certainly flexible, I am looking to receive between 250,000 and 500,000


annually. Due to my skill set and experience level, I feel that this is a comfortable and
appropriate range for my work.
If hired, how long do you expect to work for us?

I will for your company as long as I appreciate my importance in your company. I do not
mind how to be sated on my work but I will serve until my age gives a sign to rest.
What kind of job are you looking for?

I am seeking a job under the field of being a seafarer. I will accept any challenging job so I
can perform my knowledge to the work while also making significant contributions in your
company.
How do you handle rejection?

I can handle rejection by simply believing that no one is perfect and no one has a same effort.
They always say that try and try until you succeed so am I.
How do you prioritize your work to meet deadlines?

I prioritize my work by thinking that I am paid to do that work so I need to have a solid work
ethic and I do not tolerate procrastination. I always prefer to complete tasks well ahead of
schedule.
When can you start to work if hired?

I can start as soon as possible.


Do you consider yourself successful?

Yes, I consider myself successful. I have proven track record of success throughout my
education. I have the passion for excellence.
How can you contribute to our company?

I have this contributing skills that my uniqueness can make a difference. I can bring
enthusiasm and focus on a sense of commitment and teamwork.
Are you a team player?

Yes, I am a team player. I look forward helping for the greater good. I want to do what is
best even if not everyone is satisfied with the outcome.
Tell me about your ability to work under pressure.

I can handle any situations without becoming too stressed. By simply working smart in a
challenging environment, I actually work better under pressure.
How do you plan to achieve your goal/s?

I know that I have a lot to learn, but my goals for the future are interested in the new
opportunity that you are developing. To achieve someone’s goals is just to believe in
yourself, think positive and focus to achieve whatever your goal is, at the same time do your
best and God will do the rest.
How do you manage multiple tasks?

I manage multiple task by doing first the difficult and important one before the other
unnecessary, giving respect to the progress, double checking the task result, and making
sure that the tasks are completely completed.
