Text?

5. Biography of Famous/Successful Person

GENERIC STRUCTURE
OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT
• Identification : “It is a part of paragraph
which introduces or identifies the objects.”
• Description : “It is a part of paragraph which
describes the objects.”

LANGUAGE FEATURES
OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT
1. Use present tense as dominant tenses;
2. Use linking verbs or relational process frequently (is, are, has, have, belongs to) in
order to classify and describe appearance or qualities and parts or functions of
phenomena;
3. Use action verbs or material process and behavioural process in giving additional
description regarding action and behaviour done by the participants in text;
4. Use mental verb or mental process when describing feelings;
5. Use nominal group frequently to describe;
6. Use adjective and adverbs to add information to nouns and add information to
verbs to provide more detailed description about the topic;
7. Use adverbial phrases to add more information about manner, place, or time and
sometimes realized inembedded clause which functions as circumstances

DIENG PLATEAU
Many plateau in Indonesia are used as tourist spot, there are: Gago plateau
in Aceh, Karo plateau in North Sumatra, Minahasa plateau in Sulawesi and
Dieng plateau in Central Java, but now I will describe about
Dieng plateau.
Dieng plateau is location in 5 districts: Banjarnegara District, Wonosobo
District, Temanggung District, Kendal District, and Batang District.
However, that famous only two district, that are Banjarnegara District and
Wonosobo District. The distance about Jogja and Dieng is around 140
kilometres.

Dieng was a mountains, that erupts around 1800 years ago. Of the
eruption, Dieng leave many craters, there are Sikidang Crater, Timbang
Crater, Candradimuka Crater, etc. Right now, the craters use as tourist
spot. Besides its, there are also many Temples, the Temples are Arjuna
Temple, Bima Temple, etc. Besides Craters and Temples, there are also a
Lake or Tlaga. Dieng is beautiful and interesting places, so many domestic
and foreign peoples visit this place to holiday with his/her family or
couple.
Environment in Dieng Plateau, because Dieng is a mountain the air in
Dieng is very cold, up to 10°C. Therefore, residents and visitors Dieng
Plateau wear the tick cloth. Clean and cool air quality, increase natural
atmosphere in Dieng.
In summary, Dieng is a plateau in Central Java which has natural beauty
mountain special and in this place also has a tourist spot that interest to
visit.
