1. Music can impact child development, improve social skills and benefit children
of all ages
2. Musical experience of childhood can accelerate brain development, particularly
in the areas of language acquisition and reading skills
3. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the
sounds and meaning of words

• South Korea has produced quite a wave with its musical performers in the past
years.

• Why do they click and why are they popular?


• Are they more popular outside of Korea than within?
• Do you think that their music education has something to do with their success?
• Can the Philippines emulate such an endeavor? Why? Why not? *
ANSWERS
• For us Korean are popular in music Industry because their music rhythms and
choruses are very catchy to the ears and taste in music of people.
• KPOP 's are popular outside their country maybe because their music has
different genre's that tastes good to the ears of people from other countries that's
why they like and supporting their music even they didn't understand the lyrics.
• I think their music education has something to do with it because as what I know
they have many schools that are focusing on their music and dancing skills that is
why they are really good.
• Yes of course. Philippines can make it too because we have so many talented
singers here and some of them are also known in other country.

• Write down activities for pupils that would help them experience how
to be a composer, an interpreter, and a listener in the music-making
process. Create a table with three (3) columns (First Column
COMPOSER, Second Column INTERPRETER, and Third Column
LISTENER) and write down activities suited for each of the columns.

2. CHALLENGE: In your own words, how do you define music
appreciation? 

- ANSWER
• In our own understanding, Music appreciation is about how we enjoy
music, how we interpret every lyrics or message of it, knowing what
emotion is being conveyed, as well as the instruments they used and
the composer and its purpose in composing that music. In addition, we
can appreciate and value music through understanding of its different
genres or styles knowing the benefits it brings in our life.
3. HARNESS: Look at the following musical concepts. Think of what music
appreciation activities may be used to teach these.
