Management
An Introduction
Introduction
• All organizations have products and services to sell and this is
the main reason for marketing.

• Goods and services are developed to meet customer needs

and so these needs must be identified and understood.

• This requires strategies to be put in place to inform customers

of possible products/services.

• Marketing programs aim to achieve alignment between

customer needs and product/service availability.
Discussion Questions:
1. What are needs? How do they differ from wants? State some
examples

2. Are Marketing and selling the same? Why?
