PBX applies zone -4 / -7 to
NY / LA during daylight
saving for this programming
example.

11
23. Multiple Time Zones – Applied Features
Adjusted date and time are applied to following features.
- Current date and time display on PT LCD
(See next page for conditions.)
- Date and time of incoming call log
- Date and time of announcement for voice message left in UM of
PBX site 1.
(Date and time of each PBX are applied to UM of other sites.)
- Time of Day / Night / Lunch / Break automatic switching
- Start of time and end of time for Holiday
Time of PBX is applied to other features such as SMDR and timed
reminder.

12
24. Conditions for “Date & Time Display on PT”
“Date & Time display on PT” is available only for IP-PT registered to
PBX site 1. Not for DECT, DPT and APT.

Emergency Dial Alert
by E-mail & PT

15
31. Alert by E-mail & PT
When extension (in room) dials emergency number (not after talking)
or does not answer a wake-up call, alert is emailed by PBX
immediately. E-mail to smart-phone is useful to make a solution.
History of alert can be confirmed by email in PC or smartphone.
Manager extension (decided by Class Of Service ) can confirm the
alert log for emergency dial using System Alarm button on PT also.
Alert by PT is not applied to wake-up calls.
This will be useful to confirm log when e-mail system is in trouble.
For example, when an ambulance arrives, PT user near entrance can teach room
number of patients.

PBX
Room 1545 dials 911
or does not wake up.
16
32. Alert by E-mail
Alert is emailed by PBX immediately.

100. 2 phones for 1 user
If one user has two phones in different locations for example, one
phone cannot send correct CLIP as location to the emergency call
center. See next page for solutions.

103. Call Back from the Emergency Call Center
When the emergency call center calls back, the call is received by
the phone that called the center. DDI programing is ignored.
This works if < DDI number received form PRI/SIP network for call back > and <
CLIP sent to PRI/SIP network when making an emergency call > are the same.
Maximum 20 emergency calls are logged. Caller and CLIP are recorded in the log.
Older log is deleted automatically when 21st

“Alert & Log” must be enabled.

60
104. Conditions
When the DDI number is NOT recorded as CLIP in the emergency
call log, the call is distributed by DDI programming as usual.
It is recommended to program “CLIP for Emergency Dial” to DDI number, because
older log with CLIP is deleted.
DDI name is displayed on LCD of phone which receives the call.
DDI Number DDI Name Day Lunch Break Night
2021234501 911 Call back (1F) 601 601 601 601

When the DDI number is recorded as CLIP in the log, and the caller
of the CLIP has two or more phones by Wireless XDP and so on, all
phones ring for the call back.
Not only one phone that the caller dialed
the emergency number.
61
105. Conditions
When an emergency number is dialed (regardless of “CLIP for
Emergency Dial” setting), Fwd and DND of the caller can be cleared
automatically. Call waiting can be enabled automatically.
Cancel Call Forwarding and DND, and enable Call
Waiting when an emergency number is dialed.
< Conditions for the United States > < Conditions outside the United States >
This feature applies by default. This feature does not apply by default.

If < DDI number received form PRI/SIP network > and < CLIP sent to
PRI/SIP network > have different digits, call back does not work.
DDI number should be modified to same digits by programming.

DDI 4567 can be

modified to 2021234567
for example.

62
106. Technical Hint
After all programming (Page 101 to 105 of this document), it is
strongly recommended to confirm it as follows.
- Assign cellular phone number to the Emergency Number.
- Enable “Alert & Log” for the cellular phone number.
- Call the cellular phone from extension. >> Was CLIP correct ?
- Call back from the cellular phone. >> Was the call distributed to the caller ?

After confirming, programming and log should be cleared.

- Remove cellular phone number from the Emergency Number.
- Clear the log from PBX using the System Alarm key on PT.
See chapter 3 for details.

63
Reserved Bits

64
System Option 99
“Option 99” is supported for INSTALLER level in order to program
part of reserved bits.
See chapter 6 for 1F-2. Mode 2 enables new features.

65
Bit 1F-6 : Disable (Default)
Local IP address in different class is treated as local by default.
For “Local only” account, access from < SIP phone treated as local > is not blocked
by PBX because it is not hacker through internet.
For “Remote & Local” account, PBX asks < KX-NT or SIP phone treated as local >
to send voice data to local address of DSP.
This may be cause of “No voice” in the case of the next page. Bit 1F-6 is solution.
Class A = 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255 Global IP
Class B = 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255 Internet Address

Bit 1F-6 : Enable
Local IP address in different class is treated as remote when the bit
1F-6 is enabled.
For “Remote & Local” account, voice from < KX-NT or SIP phone treated as remote >
is sent to global IP address that programmed in PBX.
When the bit 1F-6 is disabled, PBX asks < phone with local Global IP

20-3 Disable Recorded message is NOT sent to extension in night mode
for timed broadcasting. This also applies to night mode by
holiday feature.
*1) When KX-NSX is upgraded from version 4 or earlier, default is “Disable”.
*2) This bit is ignored if following setting in Option 9 is enabled.
Option 9 Bit 20-2 Bit 1E-1 Specifications
Disable Disable - Call is routed to operator.
(Default)
Enable - Incoming calls are routed by Fwd all or busy and
(Default) Intercept busy, or caller hears reorder tone.

Enable - Disable Intercept does NOT work. Fwd works to Fwd destination
(Default) even if Fwd mode is off.
- Enable Intercept does NOT work. Fwd works if Fwd mode is on.

68
Bit 21-x to 23-x
Bit Default Specification when the bit is enabled
21-1 Disable SIP Basic Authentication is restricted for SIP trunk.
(KX-NSX only) Even if SIP carrier instructs to the PBX to do basic authentication, the PBX does
not send the SIP account (username & password) to SIP carrier.
When SIP carrier instructs to PBX to do digest authentication, the PBX sends
the SIP account to SIP carrier.

21-6 Enable SSAF applies to SIP trunks.

(*1) SSAF = Sip Source Address Filter

23-6 Enable TLS applies to Panasonic CA.

(*1) Chat also works via PBX instead of P2P.
These are useful when CA client logs in to PBX through internet without VPN.
This applies when CA client application logs in to PBX directly.
CA client version has to be version 6.0 or later when bit 23-6 is enabled.

*1) When PBX is upgraded from old version, default is “Disable”.

CA Password and Port Number (KX-NSX)
The CA password and My Portal password are the same.
Therefore, the CA default password is not blank.

Port number for CA may be blank, if KX-NSX is updated from old version.
Default port number of KX-NSX latest version is 33334.
72
My Portal Login ID and Password (KX-NSX)
It will be easy for installer to teach My Portal login ID and
password to users after setup.
The initial login ID is both an extension number and a programmable ID, if
programmable ID has not been changed from the default. For example,
- Both 101 and 0001 are login ID for extension 101 at first.
- After extension number is changed from 101 to 201,
both 201 and 0001 are login ID.
- After programmable ID is changed from 0001
to “mike123”, only “mike123” is ID.
101 and 201 are not ID.
Login password can be copied by Web-MC.

73
SIP Conference Phone : KX-HDV800
KX-HDV800 is supported.
KX-NS version 8.0 or later has to be used for KX-HDV800.
KX-NSX version 4.11 or later has to be used for KX-HDV800.

74
SIP Trunk Call Forwarding
302 Moved Temporarily is supported not to occupy 2 ch of SIP
trunk when call from SIP trunk is forwarded to SIP trunk.
Depending on the specifications of the SIP telephone company, this feature may
not work.
SIP system option 16 has to be enabled to activate this feature.
This feature works like ISDN CF.
KX-NSX version 5.2 or later also supports this feature as well as KX-NS.
