Sprocket Central Pty LTD: Data Analytics Approach

The document outlines a data analytics approach for a client. It discusses exploring the data to understand relationships and patterns. This involves visualizing and statistically analyzing the data. Next, models will be developed by creating training, testing, and production datasets to build and test analytical models. Finally, the results will be interpreted to identify differences, outliers, and make predictions by discerning correlations from causation. Interpretation provides structure to make sense of and explain the analyzed data.

Introduction

Companies that collect and analyze their data gain better

knowledge about themselves, their processes and performance.
They can identify performance challenges when they arise and take
action to overcome them.
Data interpretation through visual representations will let your
company process the findings faster and make better-informed
decisions on the future of the company.

Data Exploration

In the initial step in data analysis we use data visualization and statistical techniques to

describe dataset characterizations, such as size, quantity, and accuracy, in order to better
understand the nature of the data.

Data exploration techniques visually explore and identify

relationships between different data variables, the structure of
the dataset, the presence of outliers, and the distribution of
data values in order to reveal patterns and points of interest,
enabling data analysts to gain greater insight into the raw
data.
We as data analysts must first understand and develop a
comprehensive view of the data before extracting relevant
data for further analysis. Performing the initial step of data
exploration enables data analysts to better understand and
visually identify anomalies and relationships that might
otherwise go undetected.

Model Development

Model development involves the definition of model objectives, conceptualization of the

problem, translation into a computational model, and model testing, revision, and application.

In this phase, our team needs to develop data sets for training, testing,
and production purposes. These data sets enable us to develop
analytical method and train it, while holding aside some of data for
testing the model.
Team develops datasets for testing, training, and production purposes.
In addition, in this phase, the team builds and executes models based
on work done in the model planning phase. The team also considers
whether its existing tools will suffice for running the models, or if it will
need more robust environment for executing models and workflows

Interpretation

When interpreting data, we try to discern the differences between correlation, causation and
coincidences, as well as many other bias and also consider all the factors involved that may
have led to a result.

The interpretation of data is designed to help your

business make sense of numerical data that has been
collected, analyzed and presented. Having a baseline
method (or methods) for interpreting data will provide
our analyst team a structure and consistent
foundation. Data analysis and interpretation includes
the following characteristics: Data identification and
explanation, Comparing and contrasting of data,
Identification of data outliers, and Future predictions.
