• ABSTRACT

The purpose of robotics in commercial &residential intention has

come to be quite essential for Executing challenging work into more
conveniently simple way. There are a lot of researches working on to
enhance. The connection between humans and robot. The projet
presents the research of the designing & development of a voice
controlled talking robot using mobile phone based on Arduino micro
controller. The control system of the robot movement will be
employed by the voice and the robot will response the commanding
persons by generating sounds of human voice with each verbal
instruction.
• INTRODUCTION

As the world is going under the smart system

and various new technologies. It is necessary to
trend these features into mechanical system also.
Speech signals are the most important means of
communication in human beings. Voice recognition
is a technology which is used to convert the speech
signals into text format.
Voice controlled robotic system aims at
achieving successful surveillance at places where
human intervention is at high risk such as hot or sub
zero temperature environment, war fields, disaster
affected zone, etc. It also aims to fulfill the task
assigned to the user through various commands.
• ABOUT PROJECT

 This project describes the implementation of a voice-controlled

robotic car using Arduino.
 In this project, the user gives specific voice commands to the
robot through an Android app installed on the smart phone. At
the receiving side, a Bluetooth transceiver module receives the
commands and forwards them to the Arduino on the robotic car.
 Motor drive controls the movements of the robot according to
received commands. The robot moves forwards, backwards, left
and right, and stops according to the voice commands forward,
backward, left, right and stop, respectively
• METHODOLOGY

• PROCEDURE
Here are the steps for how to use android application to control the robot vehicle.
1) Download the application ‘BT VOICE CONTROL FOR ARDUINO" from Google play store and install it
2) First make sure your HC-05 Bluetooth module is paired with your mobile. The default password for pairing =
"1234”.
3) Check Once you get started with the application, the Bluetooth of the mobile is automatically enabled.
4) Click on “connect robot” option present in options menu.
5) Now select HC-OS to get paired with the module. Alter pairing it is ready to use.
6) Now click on the MIC icon and soak or instruct the robot verbal.
7) When you speak "left" your speech gets recognized and converted into text. That text a transferred to robot
through Bluetooth.
8) The robot receives the string, decodes it and compares it with the instructions that are described in the
program and moves the robot in left direction.
9) The same in the case of forward, back, Left, right, Stop.
10) As per command given from android app, motor is drive in forward, back, left, right and stop/ finish in this
way.
• WORKING

The movement of the proposed robot will be controlled by the

voice command of the user. The user will use an android powered smart
phone to give voice command. The command can be fetched using an app
which will convert the voice command into text. The phone will be
connected to the microcontroller using a Bluetooth module. After
conversation of the voice command into text the app will send necessary
data to the microcontroller using Bluetooth of the phone and
microcontroller will receive the data using Bluetooth module. According to
the command, the robot will move forward, backward, left, right or fully
autonomous. For driving the robot there will be four geared DC motors
with gripped the which will be operated by the help of DC motor driver.
Bluetooth module will send signals given by user.
• COMMAND

1. Forward – moves the vehicle in forward direction.

2. Back - moves the vehicle in backward direction.
3. Left – moves the vehicle towards left.
4. Right – moves the vehicle towards right.
5. Stop/ finish – stops the vehicle
• CONCLUSION

The proposed system shows how the android smart phone can be used
as remote controller for robot and various embedded technologies with the
help of the Bluetooth technology. At the same time, this program uses blue-
tooth connection to communicate with robot.
The proposed system also shows that how a robot can be used for
travelling purpose. The operating system of smart phone is Android, and it can
develop effective remote control program and by using Wi-Fi wireless network,
the communication between smart phone and robot can be realized, which
makes it simple and convenient to control robot.
