• The term ISO describes the series of international standards dealing with product design, production, delivery, service
and testing.

• The ISO 9000 series comprises two basic types of standard: those addressing quality assurance and those

addressing quality management.

The quality assurance standards are designed for purposes and are ISO 9001, ISO 9002, and ISO 9003.

• The quality standard is derived from a current database created through feedback from previous projects, providing

a more uniform and comprehensive standard.

• Quality management in the planning and design, construction, and operation and maintenance phases is

integrated through the construction management project delivery system. Defects are identified and corrected early.

• Feedback expands the quality data base to eliminate repetition of the identified defects.
• Quality Management has increasingly been adopted by construction companies as an
initiative to solve quality problems and to meet the needs of the final customer.
• The concept of quality management is to ensure efforts to achieve the required level of
quality for a product which is well planned and organized .
• Perspective of a construction company, quality management in construction projects
should mean maintaining the quality of construction works at the required standard .

Factors
 Quality management practices on building construction sites with a view to improve
quality management on building construction sites.

sampling technique was used to select the construction sites .

 The sampling frame comprise the professionals in the built environments such as
Architect, Quantity surveyors, Builder and the Engineers working on each site.
Case study on quality management practices on building
construction sites in Nigeria

Methodology
• Data Collection

• Data Analysis

• Frame Work Development

 The population for this case study the active building construction sites in Oyo State where construction work are
currently in progress.
 The purpose of case cross-sectional survey research design was adopted.
 The sampling frame comprise the professionals such as Architect, Quantity surveyors, Builder and the Engineers
working on each site.
 It used questionnaires with well-structured close-ended items designed based on the stated objectives of
the study
 The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 21.0 was used for statistical analysis.
