    FTTH voice service allows customers to make telephone calls using an optical network terminal (ONT) connected to their fiber line, rather than traditional copper phone lines. Calls are carried over the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network and separated from data traffic. The service offers more stable phone service than traditional PSTN copper lines. To make calls, the ONT must register with the soft switch and be assigned an IP address after completing the connection process. FTTH voice differs from data in using telephone ports on the ONT rather than Wi-Fi, and routes call traffic instead of internet traffic.

    FTTH voice service ( B2C ) is as below.

    - Customer can use telephony service via MPT network.


    (Customer can talk with MPT fixed phone, mobile, other operator and international number)
    - FTTH’s voice service is more stable than PSTN (copper.)
    - Fiber is used as the access line. (We use same fiber with data service, but traffic will be logically
    separated.)

    1. Customer site equipment


    • FTTH data and voice use same ONT. For data service however, mobile phone or PC will be
    connected at customer side by Wi-Fi and RJ-45 cable, while telephone will be connected by RJ-11
    cable for voice service.

    2. Traffic route
    • Traffic route will be different between FTTH data and FTTH voice. FTTH data traffic will go to the
    Internet while voice traffic will go to other user.

    1. Access line
    • Existing PSTN use copper for access line while FTTH voice use optical line.

    2. Customer site equipment


    • Existing PSTN do not need equipment in the customer site while FTTH voice need ONT.
    In other words, power supply will be necessary for FTTH voice while PSTN do not need it.

    Call test(voice user)

    1. Connect ONT phone port and test handset with test RJ-11 cable as follows.
    If ONT have two phone port, please use no. 1 port.

    *Notice : Handset and RJ-11 will be prepared by customer. Some customer may not prepare handset and RJ-
    11 cable by the activation date. Therefore, please bring test handset and RJ-11 cable for testing purpose.

    2. Make a call from customer circuit to check normality. Destination number is as shown below.
    • 114 ->To Huawei SS
    • ## ->To ZTE SS

    *Calling to non-MPT mobile phone from FTTH VoIP for test purpose is prohibited. This is because
    FTTH voice will require additional Top-up to call other operator’s number.

    *If call is failed, please call to SS Operation team.

    ZTE ONT: 01-500111 or 500999
    Please inform the phone number of the circuit to them.
    This contact number is only for phone call trouble isolation, not for Data trouble investigation.

    3. If test is OK, please disconnect test RJ-11 cable and test handset.

    OFF ONT is POWER OFF or Network trouble (unable to register on the soft switch.)

    ON(Green) Setting is OK (ONT has registered on the soft switch)

    Equipment Installation
    Voice

    1. Place ATB and ONT and fix them with binding band or double-sided tape as necessary.
    • To put in place confirmed by customer in advance.

    2. Write Customer name, Circuit ID, FAT Name / Port No and Phone number (for voice user only) on the sticker or
    paper and stick it on the top of the ONT.
    • Please refer Kissflow information to know customer’s phone number.
    • It will shorten working time if you print on a sticker in advance and stick it on site.
    • it's so hard to erase if you wrote on the equipment directly when reuse it, don’t write on the
    equipment.
