Height = 359m (which is more than 24m height of Eifel tower).
No. of spans = 17.
Degree of inclination = 43 to 77
Arch length = 457m
CONSTRUCTION

The bridge’s construction principle entails a large bridge with access


viaducts at each side.
The large arch is designed as a 2 – fold ribbed arch comprising steel
girders with scaffolding braces produced on the spot.
5 bridge pillars for the access viaducts are made of steel and 13 of
concrete.
The bridge will consists of about 25000 tones of steel structures, the
main portion of which will be used for the arch bridge section.
Total volume of concrete used is 74000m3.
FOUNDATION, PIERS AND ABUTMENT DETAILS

The abutment consists of hollow box and pier consist of rectangular section on
raft foundations.
SIZES OF FOUNDATION, PIERS AND ABUTMENTS

 Foundation:
 The foundation sizes for piers is 14.25m x 17.0m

 Piers:
 P1 & P2: the hollow section of size 6.6m x 5.0m (outer
dimensions)

 Abutments:
 The box size of A1 is 12m x 10.5m. It is divided into 9 cells. The box size
of A2 is 12m x 7.6m. It is divided into 6 cells. The wall thickness is
750mm on the front and back and 500mm for side walls. Internal walls
are 450mm thick.

The pictures shows the construction with hollow circular and

STEEL AND CONCRETE DETAILS

 In this bridge total amount of steel used is 25000 tones and


reinforcing steel of 4000 and 74000m3 of concrete are being
processed.
 All steel structures are placed in 4 workshops and the concrete is at
plant on the site.
 Altogether around 0.85m3 of earth will be moved.
 43 grade concrete used for 50 Mpa concrete for the first time.
 Total concrete with automatic batching concrete plant ant concrete
pump. Concrete mixed, transported and placed by with out touching
it with hand.
 The concrete below bearings done by the corbextra grout for the
first time. Compacting concrete (s. c. c) used for the first time for
concrete below the bearings.
 Use of electrical passenger hoist for the inspection of river bridge.
