Syntactic Linkage: by Haryono Lekat Bakti

Syntactic linkage refers to the devices used to signal how words and phrases can be linked to form coherent sentences. There are two linguistic phenomena involved: agreement and government. Agreement involves cross-referencing between constituents of a sentence based on grammatical features like number, person, gender, and case. Common types of agreement include person, number, gender, and case. Government refers to the grammatical relationship of nouns or pronouns with other words, particularly shown through pronouns having three cases: nominative, genitive, and accusative.
