Button Operated Gear Shifting Mechanism

This project proposes a button-operated electromagnetic gear shifting system for two-wheel vehicles. The traditional gear lever would be replaced by electromagnet solenoids attached to the gear shifting mechanism and controlled by a switch panel. Pushing the buttons on the switch panel would energize the appropriate solenoid, engaging or disengaging the gears without requiring physical effort on the gear lever. This system is aimed at minimizing the manual labor involved in pressing the traditional gear lever and allowing gear changes to be made electronically using only the switch panel.

Project Title:

Button Operated Electromagnetic Gear

Shifting For Two Wheeler

Abstract
• In our project, the control switch is used instead of the gear lever in
vehicles or automobiles and the gear lever is attached with
electromagnet solenoid to operate gear lever. Electromagnet solenoid
is a switch operated by electric power supply from battery of vehicle.
Operation

•Solenoid- solenoid is a device. The structure is something like pipe. In

which coil is present between these two coils iron rod is present. When
we give electric supply that coil then it generates magnetic flux & due to
this magnetic flux iron rod push inside this solenoid. Gear shifting
switch panel-This device control the flow of current. Battery- This
device store electric current.
Conclusion
• The project presented has involved the development and
implementation of automatic gear shifting for bikes
Literature Survey:

• The gear shift is the part of the gearbox which has the shift forks and
allows the contact from the driver to the synchronization. Most of the
time they are so much like the gear counter plus the reverse gear. And
they make it possible to choose the gear (gear ratio) and to switch
this in or out. The invention of the gear shift is attributed to Karl Benz
Problem Statement:

• This project emphasizes on minimization of harmful efforts of pressing

the gear lever. The gear is engaged by pressing the lever, and
disengaged by pressing same lever in opposite direction under the
control of the driver. In road vehicles, gear mechanism used is with
lever operated by driver hand which requires some efforts to operate
the gear lever and need attention during the driving of vehicle.
Objective
• 1. To known the various parts of the engine.
• 2. To understanding the construction & working of the various parts
of the project.
• 3. To development of demonstration model of the button operated
gear shifting mechanism for two wheeler.
Proposed Methodology:

• The two pull type electromagnet connect

• One electromagnet for front side gear shifting & other is rear side
gear shifting
• The both electromagnet connect to the gear shifting with nut bolts
• The power supply given to the both electromagnet
