Ee-232 Signals and Systems: Instructor: Dr. Mohaira Ahmad

This document provides an overview of the EE-232 Signals and Systems course. The course objectives are to provide an understanding of how physical processes can be modeled using signals and systems, and how signals can be represented and transformed between different domains. The main topics will include linear time-invariant systems, Fourier transforms, Laplace transforms, and Z-transforms. Students will learn analytical techniques for modeling system behavior and use MATLAB for signal and system analysis. Assessment will consist of quizzes, assignments, oral homework tests, a MATLAB assignment, and an end of semester exam.

ABOUT THE COURSE
Course Objectives:
This is an introductory course to Signals and Systems. The course will provide an insight
into how physical processes can be mathematically modelled using signals and systems.
The course will also focus on how signals can be represented in time domain and how
they can be transformed into other domains. The transform domain allows more
intuitive/ simpler solutions to various engineering problems. The students will also learn
about analytical techniques that allow modelling the behaviour of the systems and gain
an insight into the characteristics of systems. The course will provide skills to model,
analyze and design signals and systems.
