Horoscopes are astrological charts representing the positions of celestial objects at a person's birth that are used for divination purposes. While popular, there is no scientific evidence that they can accurately predict the future or a person's personality.

A horoscope is an astrological chart or diagram representing the positions of celestial objects like the sun, moon, and planets at the time of a person's birth. It is used to make predictions about a person's future or character.

Horoscopes are commonly featured in newspapers, magazines, and television programs. They are also used to determine romantic compatibility and evaluate relationships. Some people also use them to find partners or understand their love life.

“What are horoscopes,

and how it affects people's lives”

noun: a horoscope is an astrological chart or diagram representing the

positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, astrological aspects and sensitive
angles at the time of an event, such as the moment of a person’s birth.

horoskopos, horoskopoi, or "marker(s) of the hour"

a person who uses astrology to tell others about their
character or to predict their future.

In common usage, horoscope refers to an astrologer's interpretation,

usually based on a system of solar Sun sign astrology ; based strictly
on the position of the Sun at the time of birth, or on significant
events on the calendar, as in Chinese astrology.
the practice of seeking knowledge of the future
or the unknown by supernatural means.

It is used as a method of divination.

To forecast a person's future, typically including a delineation of character
and circumstances, based on the relative positions of the stars and planets
at the time of that person's birth.
Interest in horoscopes and the zodiac sign have
been very popular throughout history and today.
Newspapers and magazines have been carrying predictive
columns, written in prose that are usually exaggerated to
increase readership. There are even television programs
dedicated to horoscopes.

They are allegedly based on celestial influences in relation

to the zodiacal placement of the Sun on the month of birth,
cusp or decant of the person's month of birth, identifying
the individual's Sun sign or "star sign" based on
the tropical zodiac.
Horoscopes offer glimpses into a person’s basic human nature, their
personality traits, impulses, interests and more.

They help us identify and discern which areas of our lives are stable, and
which ones are in need of improvement.

Zodiac signs are also an indicator of our “love health”, single and married
individuals alike, helping us find patterns and guiding us towards
happiness and fulfillment.
People have been relying on horoscopes, natal birth charts, or zodiac signs
to determine couples’ compatibility and the future of relationships, also
known as synastry. Despite no scientifically proven validity, it may still be
an interesting way for one to find his significant other, conquer his crush,
or evaluate the fate of his relationship.

comparison between the horoscopes of two or more

people in order to determine their likely
compatibility and relationship.
Unfortunately,
there are no scientific studies that have shown support for the
accuracy of horoscopes, and the methods used to make
interpretations are simply pseudo-scientific.

falsely or mistakenly claimed or regarded as

being based on scientific method.
Many people believe their horoscopes perfectly aligns with the events in their
lives. There are some possible explanations for this. Horoscopes have vague
wording and are based on typical everyday activities. Thus, it is easier for people
to relate to these claims and increase their belief that it is real science.

A person's expectations typically lead them to bias the way they perceive
information, so their expectations are confirmed.
In modern scientific framework, no known interaction exists that could
be responsible for the alleged influence between a person and the
position of stars in the sky at the moment of birth.
Interestingly,
some psychological tests have shown that it is possible to
construct personality descriptions and foretelling generic
enough to satisfy most members of a large audience
simultaneously, referred to as the Barnum Effect.
Barnum Effect
or Forer Effect

psychology the phenomenon that occurs when individuals

believe that personality descriptions apply specifically to them,
despite the fact that the description is actually filled with
information that applies to everyone.
Psychics, horoscopes, magicians, palm readers,
and crystal ball gazers make use of the Barnum Effect
when they try to convince people that their description
of them is highly special and unique and could never
apply to anyone else.
With so many believers, and perhaps a personal connection to the
horoscope, it can be difficult to accept that astrology is not grounded
in scientific evidence and is a merely pseudoscience.
I do not recommend to overly rely on horoscopes.

Some people take horoscopes so seriously that they are perfectly

convinced and submitted themselves to what the horoscopes have
stated, instead of being themselves, living the preciously good life,
or being confident.

After all, I think that horoscopes are like the icing on the cake.
As it functions as an embellishment and enlivens everyday life.
Just like any other forms of divination, horoscopes work as a
guidance for an individual in everyday life. They shall not be
overused or misused.

It gives an individual a direction to live his everyday life, from

tackling problem to realising happiness.

Rather than being a crystal ball which prophesies superstitiously,

it is an inspirational quotes which give us ideas and courage,
keeping ourselves going on the right track.
