involved in the scenario and engages with the subjects of the film.

any questions asked in the filming usually stay in the edit unlike other types of documentaries and the
viewer see the film through the film maker point of view allowing them to feel the same away the film
maker felt at that moment
2) Expository usually include footage that supports the argument the filmmaker is trying to make
including stock footage, archival footage b-roll and sometimes re-enact historical events.
3) these documentaries will have a great voice over, poetic style visuals on screen and don’t leave
much subjectivity meaning the point they are show is right.

Reflexive
1) the reflexive style of documentary's focus on the filmmaker and audience relationship, encouraging
audiences to reconsider their assumptions and re-examine their notions and ideas.
2) fictional film techniques is used in this type of documentary; they tend to copy fictional films more
than other styles of documentary.by re-enacting certain events and filming it helps the viewer know
how it happened.

chronicle of a summer (1961)
Observational
1) Observational documentary is a form of documentary film the seeks to capture real life situations
without interfering with them as the happen.
2)Observational documentaries will include handheld shots, long takes as the filmmakers are following
action taking place, no voice over and know other filming like re-enactments as that would damage the
authenticity of the film.
3) some examples include don’t look back (1961) and high school (1968)
