Transportation?
Transportation refers to carrying tourists from their
place of living to the place where the tourist
attraction is the location.
What are the different
types of Transportation?

LAND
ROAD RAIL
AIR TRANSPORTATION
Air transport includes moving passengers, and
their personal belongings, from one location to
another by plane. It is one of the major modes of
travel in which tourists are chartered from one
tourist destination to another. Without this
industry, other tourism products, like car rentals,
hotels and resorts, food establishments and tourist
spots, will be at a standstill.
Advantages of Air Transportation
• High Speed
• It offers comfortable and
quick services
• It is used for easy access
Disadvantages of Air Transportation
• Very Costly
• Uncertain and Unreliable
• Small Carrying Capacity
WATER TRANSPORTATION
Water transportation is the intentional movement of
water over large distances. It is the cheapest and the
oldest mode of transport. It has the largest carrying
capacity and is most suitable for carrying bulky goods
over long distances. q It has played a very significant
role in bringing different parts of the world closer and
is indispensable to foreign trade.

• Slow Speed
• More risky
• Unreliable
LAND TRANSPORTATION
Land transport refers to activities of
physical movement of goods and
passengers on land. This movement takes
place on road or rail. So land transport
may further be divided into Road
transport or Rail transport.
ROAD TRANSPORTATION
• Flexible
• Economical
• Quick transit for short distances
Disadvantages of Road Transportation
• Slow speed
• Limited carrying capacity
• Low level of comfort
