Minimum Laptop Requirement


• For this course, your laptop must have
• At least 4GB RAM Memory
• At least 50GB of free space
• At least Pentium 2.6 GHz+
• Please flag out to your lecturer if you do not meet the
minimum computing requirement.

Extracting the File


• Follow all instructions on the next few slides.
• Right click on the downloaded file
• Click “Extract All” onto your computer
• Click on the tick box “Show extracted files when
completed” and “Extract”.

• Double click on “autorun”.
• The following screen will pop up.
• Wait for setup to complete and click “Next”.

• In the following screen that appears, select the “I have read and
accept the license terms” option and click “Next”.

• Select “Custom” installation in the Options Page then click on
“Next”.
• For 64-bit machines, the installation directory should be at
c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft…
• For 32-bit machines, the installation directory should be at
c:\Program Files\Microsoft…

• In the left panel of the windows that pops up, check Visual C++
component.
• If you are installing on a 64-bit machine, make sure that the X64
Compilers and Tools are also selected.
• Uncheck all other features.
• Click on “Install” to start the
installation.
• It will take about 40mins to
an hour for the installation
to complete.
• Do not start MS Visual
Studio first.
• It will take about 5-10
minutes for Windows 10 to
index this program and be
available on Start Menu.
