• Read the rubric and have a clear idea of the topic to be
discussed.
Preparation • Decide the structure needed.
• Brainstorm ideas
• Organise the ideas: select, categorize and group the ideas.
• Write the topic sentences.
• Write the supporting sentences and examples.
Performance • Add connectors and establish connections between the ideas.
• Write the conclusion for each paragraph.
• Edit the piece: read again, enumerate the aspects to check the
piece (grammar, punctuation, spelling, transition, organization,
etc), and CHECK with several dictionaries.
• Compare the closing idea with the topic sentence.
Practice • Make questions to evaluate if the message is clearly stated.
