– Offers a refreshing change from work, and it often has a potent
renewing influence.
– The action and activities of people engaging in constructive and
personally pleasurable use of leisure time.
– Include passive or active participation in individual or group, cultural
functions, natural human history appreciation, non formal education
program, pleasure travel, sightseeing and entertainment.
– Refreshment of the strength and spirits after toil; diversion play; a
means of getting diversion or entertainment.
– A pleasurable activity, which may be relatively sedentary, largely
pursued for intrinsic motivation during leisure.
– Pleasurable and constructive use of spare time.

Outdoor Recreation
Air / aviation
• Ballooning, hang gliding, parachuting, paragliding, scenic aerial touring (small
aircraft / helicopter) etc.

• White-water rafting, sea kayaking, river canoeing, wind surfing, jet
boating, water skiing, fishing etc.
Outdoor Recreation

• Cross-country skiing, trekking, mountain biking, horse back
riding, rock climbing, camping etc.
Indoor Recreation
• No specific categories.
• Includes all sort of activities (could be anything!)
as long as those activities are conducted /
participated in a ‘close environment’ – eg. Hall,
house, etc.
