    Asking and Giving Direction

     Asking for direction is an expression that


    someone uses to ask for directions and
    directions to go somewhere.
     Giving the directions is an expression uses to
    give directions or directions somewhere.
    Examples of phrases and expressions used to
    indicate direction.

     ( First, ) go down this street ( for……blocks).


     ( Then, ) turn left/right at the traffic light
     ( After that,) go straight on….. Street until you
    get to the….
     ( When you get to the ….,) turn left/right
    again.
     ( Then, ) stay on ….. Avenue for about ……
    yards/meters.
     It’s on your left, next to the…… you can’t miss
    it.
    Example dialog

    Woman : excuse me, sir.


    Man : yes. Can I help you?
    Woman : yes, Sir. Could you tell me how to get
    the nearest supermarket?
    Man : well, the nearest supermarket is located
    about 200 meters from here. So you can keep
    going straight and it will be on your left
    Woman : thank you, sir
    Man : you’re welcome
