The quality of the verb that tells whether
the subject is the doer or the receiver of the action. Types of Voice 1. ACTIVE VOICE 2. PASSIVE VOICE Active Voice • When the subject does or ’acts upon’ the verb, the sentence is said to be in the active voice. Formula: Subject + Verb + Object Formula: Actor + Verb + Target 1. The boy (subject) kicked (verb) the ball (object). Passive Voice •When the subject receives the action of the verb. Formula: Subject + Verb + Object Formula: Target + Verb + Actor 1.
