2d - Types of Educational Standards

There are several types of educational standards that define expectations for student learning. Content standards describe the specific knowledge and skills students should have in a subject area. Performance standards define how well students must demonstrate their work. Developmental standards describe a learning progression where students' skills improve over a timeframe. Grade-level standards address the intellectual, emotional, and physical development of students at a particular grade. Standards provide objectives for what and how well students should learn.
