Tin is an abandoned child who lives on the streets guessing winning lottery numbers to get food. He befriends a dog named Banhmi who becomes his only friend and protector. However, Banhmi is killed trying to protect Tin from attackers. Tin then has a dream of Banhmi that leads him to correctly guess the winning lottery number. Although it brings him food, Tin is unhappy about winning this way. In the end, Tin leaves the city to search for his parents and adopts a new puppy, which he names "Nha" meaning "home".

bet their money on a number. Some people are believed to have
the ability to see the winning numbers in their dream. Therefore,
Tin pretends to be one of them to trick the superstitious.
TIN MET A DOG

Tin named him “Banhmi”. He
ADOPTED

Banhmi every single piece
of food he had.
Banhmi would warn him if anyone
approached them. The dog became
his best friend.

(traditionally baked with both rice and wheat flour) filled
with a variety of ingredients, typically including meat,
pickled vegetables, and chilli peppers.
THE DEATH OF
BANHMI
Banhmi tried to protect Tin from the
chasers, which led him to be stoned to
death by the angry throng. Tin also
was injured and knocked
unconscious.
THE WINNING NUMBER
After the death of Banhmi, Tin had
dreams about him every night.
Dreaming about dog infers the winning
number will be 59 so he advised the
gamblers to bet on that number. He was
right this time.

Losing his dog brings him food and


money, it’s like some hideous trick of
fate. For the first time, Tin was not
happy about guessing the right number.
ENDING
Tin moved to another city to find his
parents. On his journey, he found an
