PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism
is the representation of another author's language, thoughts,
ideas, or expressions as one's own original work.
The word plagiarism is derived from the latin word plagiare,
which means to kidnap or abduct.

Plagiarism:
Turning in someone else's work as your own.
Copying large pieces of text from a source without citing that
source.
Copying from a source but changing a few words and phrases
to disguise plagiarism.
Buying an essay or paper and turning it in as your own work.
DIRECT PLAGIARISM
Copying another writer's work with no attempt to acknowledge
that the materials was found in an external source is
considered direct plagiarism.
Direct plagiarism is the word-for-transcription of a section of
someone else's work, without attribution and without quotation
marks.
SELF PLAGIARISM
reusing work that you have already published or submitted for
a class. It can involve re-submitting an entire paper, copying
or paraphrasing passages rom your previous work, or
recycling old data.

words.
Paraphrasing without citation is the most common type of
plagiarism.
Paraphrasing becomes plagiarism when you read a source
and then rewrite its key points as if they were your own ideas.
VERBATIM PLAGIARISM
You commit verbatim plagiarism when you directly copy text
from a source and paste it into your own document without
attribution.
If the structure and the majority of the words are the same as
in the original, then it is verbatim plagiarism, even if you delete
or change a couple of words here and there.
