 May created by project manager but issued by sponsor
 Assign project manager and give him authority
 Link project to organization strategic plan

Project Statement of work (SOW) :


 Created by customer / sponsor to describe their needs and product scope.
 Further defined when planning scope. ‫ب يان مجملل العما لي تم ت فصيله عند ت خطيط‬
‫ا لنطاق‬
Project Selection Methods:
 Net Present value (NPV): It’s the present value of (the total benefits minus
the costs). We are looking for the higher value.
 Internal Rate of return (IRR): This is the rate at which projects revenues and
costs are equal. A higher rate is most desirable.
 Payback Period : The length of time for an organization to recover its
investment and make profit.
 Cost Benefit Ratio: It’s a comparison of project expected cost and the
potential benefits it can bring in. We are looking for the least ratio.
Not that the benefit cost ratio is the opposite to this ratio.

Other Definitions :

 The law of diminishing returns: At a certain point increased resources will

not result in proportional results.

 Opportunity Cost: The value lost by selecting one project over another.

 Sunk Cost : Expended costs that is already spent, it should not be

respected when deciding to complete or stop the project

(1) Corrective Action :‫ا الجراء ا لتصحيحي‬


 Bring expected future performance inline with project management plan.
‫ت صحيح ا الوضاع ا لحا لية حتى ي تماشى ا الداء ب ع د ذلك مع ا لخطة‬
 Before taking corrective action : Focus attention, measure vs. plan, and look
for problems rather than wait for them .
‫ اكتشف المشاكل بدال من انتظارها‬, ‫ القياس بالنسبة للخطة‬, ‫ تركيز االنتباه‬: ‫قبل االجراء التصحيحي‬
 After corrective action : Measure to evaluate corrective action effectiveness,
determine the need for recommending further corrective action.

 Resulted changes : If corrective action would make change should be

 Deals with anticipated or possible deviation from baseline

Change Request

• Change request is a documented calls for changing, adding, or deleting to

the project scope.

Change Control Board (CCB) :‫ل جنة مراقبة ا لتغييرات‬

• Responsible for review and analyze change request then approve or reject.

• May include project manager, customer, expert, sponsor.

• If the sponsor is not included in CCB, you may need to have final approval

fro the project sponsor.
