Project Title: Saving Energy

This document discusses ways to save energy. It begins by introducing different types of energy like electrical, solar, and thermal energy. It then discusses common ways energy is wasted, such as leaving lights on in empty rooms. The effects of overusing energy are described, like increased climate change and higher energy costs. Finally, specific tips for saving energy at home are provided, such as adjusting the thermostat, taking shorter showers, and replacing incandescent bulbs with LEDs. The conclusion stresses the importance of saving energy for future generations.

introduction
1-Introduction
 when we save energu,we also save
money.for it reduces the demand for fossil
fuels like coal, oil and natural gaz .
Generating energy requires precious
natural resources
For EX coal, oil or grass
Therefore, using less energy helps us to
preserve these resources and make them
last longer in the future
2-kinds of energy
Today, the energy usable by man comes in many forms.
Thermal energy, mechanical energy, electric energy and
solar energy...
The most used in our daily activities is the
Electric one.
- Energy can be transferred from one object or system to
another through the interaction of forces between the
objects ).
-Energy comes in multiple forms: kinetic, potential,
thermal (heat), chemical, electromagnetic, and nuclear
energy. (as discussed in the previous section).

Earth from the
Sun by light (or by that chemical the flow of
any source of from bonds electric

is also called magneti (and

3-. Forms of wasteful use of the electric energy
by the human

The notion of wastage of energy (or energy waste)

generally describes the waste of energy sources, and in
particular of fuels and electricity
Waste has many causes and sources:
-It results in particular from the unnecessary use of energy resources
(gadget, advertising or aesthetic lighting, etc.);
-It also comes from unreasonable or misused uses of energy resources;
-Lack of reuse;
-Recycling is not sufficiently applied
-. When we leave lights on and don't use energy saving CFL bulbs, we
waste energy and also lose money because it requires money to create
the electric energy.
Top 10 bad energy wasting habits
I leave the lights on when I exit a room.
They’re just as easy to turn on as they're to turn off.

I leave fans on in empty rooms.

Remember, fans cool people NOT rooms.

.
I forget to change out air filters.
Think of the dust inhaled and energy wasted.

fall asleep with the television on.

If it's your nightly routine, it costs you about $55 a year or a nice dinner.
I keep my charged laptop and cell phone plugged-in.
Psst.. It won’t go past 100%, but it’ll waste energy.
4 the Effects of Overusing Energy
Increased Risk of Climate Change
* According to the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA), fossil fuel combustion accounted for
more than 5,200 million metric tons of carbon
dioxide equivalents in 2009. This figure is a 10
percent increase from 1990. In addition, methane
emissions from natural gas increased during the
same period by 17 percent.
Part of this increase is due to the careless use of electricity. The United
States wastes more than $2 billion worth of energy each year from
inefficient outdoor lighting alone
Higher Energy Costs
A natural consequence of overusing energy is
increased costs for you. This can come in the form of
fuel and energy bills; you will be paying more without
an appreciable return on your investment. You may
also risk lowering the expected lifespan of appliances
and other electronics. When you have to replace
spent devices, you further impact the environment by
generating waste and purchasing replacement
equipment.
Your wise use of electricity, therefore, can translate into
long-term savings in energy bills and also reduce the
need for other purchases
4-How to save energy
To get started saving energy around your home, just follow these easy
rules:
1. Shut off the lights when you're done using them, and turn off the
TV, computer, video games and other electrical stuff when you leave
the room. Also, when you leave the house for several days remoce all
devices from the main. Most appliance have standby functions that
consume power even when the device is turned off
2. Adjust the thermostat during the winter. Ask a
grown-up to adjust the thermostat by 10 degrees cooler
in the winter and 10 degrees warmer in the summer for
eight hours a day.
3. Don’t leave the refrigerator door open. Every time you
open the door, up to one-third of the cold air can escape

4. Fix dripping faucets. One drop per second can add up

to 165 gallons of hot water a month - that's more than
one person uses in two weeks!
• 6. Replace a burnt-out light bulb with a new compact
fluorescent bulb. Fluorescent bulbs use 75 percent less
energy, and they last 10 times longer
• 7. Take a short shower instead of a long bath. It might take
25 gallons of hot water to fill the bathtub, compared to only
seven gallons for a quick shower
conclusion

Therefore, we should start saving energy

wherever we are, at home, at school, at work
and in neighborhood. Thus, the earth a place
that is convenient and sustainable for our
future generation someday.
