Feedback control Scheme
Process based on control of a steam heater. The steam input to the
heater is manipulated to maintain outlet temperature at set point.
The user can introduce an unmeasured disturbance into the process
to observe the impact on control.
Process transfer function

 Deadtime = 2sec
 Time constant = 2sec
 Gain = 0.3
Feedback control Scheme
 Controlled variable : Outlet Temperature

 Manipulated variable : Steam Flow rate

 Disturbances are : Inlet water flow rate

Inlet water temperature
Outlet water flow-rate

Current Status

 Studied and understand about delta-V and different

control strategies i.e Feedback, Feedforward, Cascade &
Ratio control.

 Modelled heat transfer process and simulated, designed

different control strategies in Delta-v.
Future plan

 Real time implementation of feedback control scheme for

heat transfer process

 Data collection on excel sheet using Add-in function
