INTRODUCTION OF POWERPOINT 2010
How to start PowerPoint?
From Start Menu
 Start >> All Programs >> Microsoft Office

Double Click a PowerPoint file (*.ppt / .pptx)


INTERFACE OF THE POWERPOINT
THE TITLE BAR

 The Title Bar is located at the top in the center of the


PowerPoint 2010 window. The Title bar displays the
name of the presentation on which you are currently
working.
THE RIBBON

 The Ribbon holds all the commands and features of


each of the tabs in the Ribbon. It is located across the
top of the ribbon under the Title Bar.
THE STATUS BAR

 The Status Bar generally appears at the bottom of the


window. The Status Bar displays the number of the slide
that is currently displayed and the total number of slides.
THE VIEW BUTTONS

 The View Buttons appear the near the bottom of the


screen.
 The common views are:
 Normal View
 Slide Sorter View
 Slide Show View
THE TABS
 The Slides tab displays a thumbnail
view of all your slides.

 The Outline tab displays the text


contained in your presentation in an
outline format.
THE EDITING WINDOW

 Slides appear in the center of the editing window. You


create your presentation by adding content to the slides.
 You can also use the notes area to creates notes to
yourself.

 Open – Open a Saved file

 New – Create a New file

3. File Type – PowerPoint Presentation
PRACTICE 2
 Open a saved file
1. Double Click the saved file in Practice 1

 Save 3 new files by the Save As function

2. File Name – Practice 2

1. PowerPoint Presentation
2. PowerPoint 97 – 2003 Presentation
3. PowerPoint Show
