Safety
What To Do To Reduce Electrical Hazards
• Ensure good housekeeping

• Do not leave combustible material on the floors

and workbenches

• Switch off tools before plugging in

• Unplug appliances before cleaning or making

adjustments

• Earth all equipment and ensure a separate

grounding wire runs from the machine to
an independent grounding rod
6
All Electrical Tools Should Be Covered By Insulated

7
Ensure Electrical Circuits Are Enclosed, Insulated And Properly
Fused.

• Disconnect faulty equipment, replace

frayed cords or damaged power points

• Do not overload circuits and fuses

• Keep electrical cords off the floor

• Use electrical equipment according to the

instruction booklet

• Employ only professional electrical

workers

Reducing The Risks Of Fire
• Ensure that all electrical circuits are enclosed,
insulated, earthed and properly fused
• Store flammable materials away from heat source
• Undertake regular testing of the emergency plan and
exercise fire-fighting
• Check fire alarms, drills, emergency lighting and
other systems
• Mark escape routes clearly
• Provide sufficient lighting to avoid confusion in
reaching exits
