History Of HUL
HUL was established in 1931 as Hindustan Vanaspati Manufacturing Co.
After a merger of constituent groups in 1956, it was renamed Hindustan Lever
Limited.
Finally the company was renamed in June 2007 as Hindustan Unilever Limited.
Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is an Indian consumer goods company
headquartered in Mumbai, India.
It is a subsidiary of Unilever, a British-Dutch company.
Its products include foods, beverages, cleaning agents, personal care
products, water purifiers and other fast-moving consumer goods.

Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR is a concept whereby organization consider the interest of society by taking responsibility
for the impact of their activities on consumers, suppliers , employees, shareholder’s
,communities and other stakeholder's, as well as the environment.

Corporate Social Responsibility Act
As per section 135(1) of the Companies Act 2013, the CSR provision is applicable to companies
which fulfills any of the following criteria during the immediately preceding financial year:-
1. Companies having net worth of rupees five hundred crore or more, or
2. Companies having turnover of rupees one thousand crore or more, or
3. Companies having a net profit of rupees five crore or more.

Asha Daan (2018-19)

• Project Description: Asha Daan is a home in Mumbai for
abandoned and differently-abled children, HIV-positive patients and
destitute people.

• Project Description: The Company has contributed some amount for
project Ankur for providing special education for differently-abled
children at Doom Dooma in Assam. Ankur has provided educational and
vocational training to 359 differently-abled children.
