In June 1688, a son was born to James

7 leading Nobles and MPs wrote to
William of Orange, the Dutch King, asking
him to overthrow James.

On 28th October, William sailed to
England with a massive invasion fleet.

William landed in Devon with an army of 20,000
men. He was welcomed by the local population.

James had a similar sized army, but
could not decide what to do. Many of
his men joined William’s army.

James tried to negotiate with William, but William
replied by telling James was not safe to stay in England.

James tried to flee England but was captured by
fishermen. However, William then allowed him to
escape.

In February 1689, William and Mary were
crowned King and Queen of England.
