Lesson 7 Transformation by Trigonometric Formulas

This document discusses techniques for evaluating integrals involving trigonometric transformations. It covers integrals of the product of sine and cosine, powers of sine and cosine, powers of tangent and secant, and powers of cotangent and cosecant. Examples are provided for each type of integral along with the relevant trigonometric identities needed to transform the integrals into standard forms that can be evaluated.

Transformation by Trigonometric Formulas

Some trigonometric integrals can not be evaluated directly from their given forms and
require transformation to the standard form by using appropriate trigonometric
identities. We shall classify the integrands of such trigonometric integrals as follows:

B. Powers of Sine and Cosine
C. Powers of Tangent and Secant
D. Powers of Cotangent and Cosecant
