ADDING FILTERS Photoshop Filters
Photoshop has plenty of powerful built-in Filters. Apply special visual effect to your images using Filters. Using Dry Brush Filter
This filter is applied to your paint in
order to do an effect of a more solid color. To do this: • Select your image then select Filter > Filter Gallery > Artistic > Dry Brush then click OK Button. Using Sponge Filter
This filter reduces the detail of your
image and creates an effect that you get as if you damp a sponge to a glass or a wet surface. To do this: • Go to the Filter > Filter Gallery > Artistic > Sponge. Using Gaussian Blur Filter
This filter lessens the quality of your
image to create an artistic effect. To do this: • Click Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. The more radius pixels you put, the more blurry the image will become. Using Motion Blur
The Blur effects lets you add a blur
that has the sense of getting the picture while moving in a direction. To do this: • Click Filter > Blur > Motion Blur. Using Brush Stroke Filter
This filter gives you an imitation of a
painted image. To do this: • Go to the Menu bar, and click Filter > Filter Gallery > Brush Strokes > Crosshatch. Using Ink Outline Filter
The Ink outline filter makes your Image
form an outline of edges with black streaks. To do this: • Click the Filter > Filter Gallery > Brush strokes > Ink outline. Using Distort Filter
This filter stretches and squeezes
areas for your image. To do this: • Click Filter > Distort > Spherize and adjust the spherical amount by sliding the amount tab. Click OK to apply. Using Noise Filter
This filter makes noise to the image
that you open in the Photoshop. To do this: • Go to the Filter > Noise > Add Noise. Change the value of the amount of noise to adjust your noise. Using Pixilated Filter
This recreates your image using dots.
Do this: • Go to the Menu bar and click Filter > Pixilated > Pointillize. Using Mosaic Filter
This filter converts your image to a
set of solid color squares. Do this: • Go to the Menu Bar and click Filter > Pixelate > Mosaic. Using Render Filter
One of the examples of a render filter
is the lighting effects filter which lets you add spotlight and other lighting enhancements in your image. To Do This: • Click Filter > Render > Lighting Effects. Using Lens Flare
The Lens flare is the extra flash of
light that sometimes appear in your photo when too much light enters the lens. To do this: • Click Filter > Render > Lens Flare Using Sharpen Filter
The Sharpen filter helps you intensify
the detail of your image. To do this: • Go to the Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask. Using Sketch Filter
The Sketch filter gives you the outlining
effects of your image. To do this: • Going to the Menu bar and click Filter > Sketch > Charcoal Filter. Using Photocopy Filter
This filter is like the charcoal filter but
you will see the effects of a photocopy machine. To do this: • Click Filter > Sketch > Photocopy and then a window will appear for adjustment of your filter. Using Texture Filter
The Texture filter applies other
patterns to your image. To do this: • Click Filter > Texture > Texturizer. You can adjust the texture filter by going through the texture filter options. Using Stained Glass Filter
The Stained Glass filter converts small
areas of image into different shapes similar to the stained glass windows. To do this: • Click Filter > Texture > Stained Glass and adjust the cell size, border thickness or the light intensity. Using Filter from the Other Menu
This effects develops an interesting
effect that shifts your image horizontally or vertically in the image window. To do this: • Click Filter > Other > Offset. The offset dialog box will appear for the offset filter. END OF LESSON DISCUSSION
