Fusing Machine Assignment

Fusing is a process that attaches interlining to parts of garments to provide stiffness. A fusing machine applies heat and pressure to fuse the interlining between fabric layers. The fusing machine has a revolving feed sheet that carries apparel parts and interlining through the fusing chamber. In the chamber, heat is applied to the interlining to fuse it while pressure rollers apply pressure. Operators continuously feed components into one side and remove fused components from the other. Fusing machines are used in clothing production to provide shape and structure to areas like collars, cuffs, and waistbands.

What is fusing?
 It is a process of attaching an interlining specially to the part of a garment that
requires stiffness.
 Some of application area of Fusing in a garment are PLACKET , COLLAR , CUFF
, WAISTBAND , MEN’S JACKET FOREFRONT ETC.

Working Procedure of Fusing Machine

 Firstly, interlining is placed between the two layers of fabrics.


 After that, apparel parts and interlining are placed on the
revolving feed sheet of the fusing machine.
 Here, the fusing machine is carried out the entire fusing chamber.
 The necessary amount of heat is applied in the interlining in
fusing chamber.
 By using two pressure rollers, required amount of pressures are
also applied here.

 Fusing chamber controls all the necessary fusing temperature and pressure
and the total fusing time is controlled by controlling the speed of feed
sheet.
 In this stage, all the fused components are transferred to the delivery
revolving sheet.
 One operator is ready to collect those components here.
 An operator is continuously feeding fused component here in the feeding
side of fusing machine.
 Another operator continuously receiving the fused components in the
delivery side of continuous fusing press machine.
Uses of Fusing Machine in Clothing
Industry

 These types of fusing machine are used


for woven fabric fusing.
 It is used for knit or knitted fabric fusing.
 It is also used for the whole roll of fabric
and interlining.
