At the end of the session, the students are expected to:

1. Determine the definition of Intern and Internship;


2. Realize the importance of having an internship;
3. Know the benefits of being a good intern;
4. Exhibit the traits of being an outstanding intern on their
actual on-the-job trainings;
5. Learn how to come up with their own internship resume.

INTERN VS INTERNSHIP INTERN

 Intern is a student or recent graduate undergoing


supervised practical training for a period of time order to
get experience

 Internship is a system of on-the-job training that


allows learners to gauge their interest in a chosen
professional area with the primary focus on getting some
on the job training and taking what’s learned in the
classroom and applying it to the real world.

TIMING INTERN

• Semesters
You’ll need to balance an internship with your classes
and seek opportunities within commuting distances. Approval
from your department head is necessary for credits.
• Summer
Provides the most options and flexibility and expands
the range of places for you to apply to. Paid, unpaid, credit
and non-credit bearing experiences are often available.

early deadlines for semestral/ summer internships. By
having your materials prepared early, you can be
ready for any opportunities that arise.

mistakes and waste less time on your journey ahead
employment.
It is equally critical that you have a solid idea of
where you want to go. To point you in the right

 Know the requirements of the job so that you can
relate how your qualifications compare with these

they are working on.

• Additional Experience (i.e. Club Memberships, etc.)
• Skills (Computer/Language/Music/Photography)
