Blood Bank Management System: BY: Karthik Torgal Manjunath Hiremath

This document outlines a proposed Blood Bank Management System (BBMS) that would allow for the electronic storage, processing, and analysis of donor and blood inventory information. The key objectives of the BBMS are to provide a centralized database for donor records and blood stocks, enable donors to view their information and blood results online, and allow administrators and hospitals to search for and request blood supplies conveniently. The proposed system would include modules for registration, donations, camps, donor login, searching, and administration. It would use a MySQL backend with a PHP and HTML frontend. Testing of the individual functions and integrated system would help ensure proper functionality and interface handling. Benefits of the BBMS include increased transparency, easier access to donation records and blood availability

Introduction to project
• The basic building aim is to provide blood donation service
to the city recently.
• Blood Bank Management System (BBMS) is a browser
based system that is designed to store, process, retrieve
and analyze information concerned with the
administrative and inventory management within a blood
bank.
• This project aims at maintaining all the information
pertaining to blood donors, different blood groups
available in each blood bank and help them manage in a
better way.
Motivation to project
• Aim is to provide transparency in this field,
make the process of obtaining blood from a
blood bank hassle free and corruption free
and make the system of blood bank
management effective.
Problem Statement and Objectives

• To develop a system that provides functions to support

donors to view and manage their information conveniently.
• To maintain records of blood donors, blood donation
information and blood stocks in a centralized database
system.
• To inform donors of their blood result after their donation.
• To support searching, matching and requesting for blood
convenient for administrators.
• To provide a function to send an e-mail directly to the donor
for their user account and the hospital, the availability of the
blood bag.
Requirements
• SYSTEM REQUIRMENTS
• 2.1 Software Requirements
– Operating system : WINDOWS 10
– Technology Used : HIGHER
– Back-End : MYSQL
– Front-End : PHP,HTML
•
• 2.2 Hardware Requirements
– System Processor: Intel(R) core(TM) i5
– Motherboard : Genuine Intel
– RAM : 1 GB or higher
• Memory : 1.5GB or higher

• Request For Blood
• Camps
• Donor Login

Testing
• SOFTWARE TESTING : Testing is the process of executing then programs
with the intention of finding out errors.
• LEVELS OF TESTING :
 FUCTIONAL TESTING : Here the system is a black box whose behavior is
determined by studying its inputs and related outputs.
 STRUCTURAL TESTING: It tests failure behavior of the system circumstances
may arise through an unexpected combination of events where the node
placed on the system exceeds the maximum anticipated load.
 UNIT TESTING: In unit testing the entire individual functions and modules
were tested independently.
 INTEGRITY TESTING: . Integrity testing is a systematic technique for
constructing the program structure while at the same time conducting
tests to uncover errors associated with interfacing.
Advantages
• Users do not have to contact the hospital to
know the results of their blood donation.
• The reports and information are kept in
electronic form and can be easily maintained by
the administrators, and donors may access their
donation records whenever they want to.
• The reports of donations are kept in electronic
files so that they may last longer and have less
chance of being lost or damaged.
Conclusion and Future Enhancements
• It gave us the requisite practical knowledge to supplement
the already taught theoretical concepts thus making us
more competent as a computer engineer. The project from
a personal point of view also helped us in understanding
the following aspects of project development:
• The planning that goes into implementing a project.
• The importance of proper planning and an organized
methodology.
• The key element of team spirit and co-ordination in a
successful project.
