Database Presentation

This document describes the development of a database called LashedOut for a small lash business called Trippy Lashes. The owner wanted to computerize their scheduling system instead of using paper appointment books. The database was created in Microsoft Access with tables, relationships, reports, queries and forms to schedule and track appointments, employee schedules, payments and time management. As a result, the owner learned about designing databases in Access and how this system will help organize their business and save them money compared to the previous paper-based system.

LashedOut Salon Scheduling Database

By: Ja’Nae Savoy

Back Story of LashedOut

• I currently own a small lash

business called Trippy Lashes.
• I have employees and we work
in a salon suite.
• Instead of the old school way of
using appointment books and
pens for scheduling
appointments or using our
personal calendars in our phones
to remember appointments that
we should utilize a computerized
scheduling system.
Database
Background

• Microsoft Access was

used to create this
database.
• I broke my contents into
tables and built
relationships with the
same contents. While
also building numerous
reports,queries and
forms.

Conclusion

• This database will help

me tremendously when
scheduling my clients
from now on.
• The appointments, time
management, employee
schedule and payment
tracking will keep me
organized and most of all
save me money 🙂
Conclusion

•As a result of this project, I learned a

lot more about Microsoft Access and
how to navigate through the
application.
•It was fun learning how to design
forms and creating reports and
queries. I also learned a lot about
creating relationships via Microsoft
Access. That was the hardest part.
•Overall, I liked how creative I was
able to get with making my
backgrounds for my forms.
