There will be two hours of lecture class per week and 2 hours of practical class per
week
Lecture class will combine all students
Practical class will be broken into four groups: 2 from comp. science and 2 from
ICT/Edu
Course will be done in 15 weeks of a semester 1,
Credit value 10 credits
Total no. of hrs 45.
Mode of assessment
• Two practical quiz 10%
• Two assignment 10%
• Two theory tests 20%
• Total course work 40%
• Final examination 60%

Computer definition

Computer comes from the word “compute” meaning that “calculate”

Computer is a calculating device

In fact 80% of work done by computer today is of non-Mathematical

Hence this definition is ignored

More accurately we can define computer as follows

Computer is electronic device that can accept data (input) through the set of
instructions stored in its own memory, manipulate data(process), store and give out
information (output)

The computer is a group of pieces of hardware put together to  get a job done faster
