WHAT IS 3G?
 THE FULL FORM OF 3G IS-"3RD GENERATION" ! when mobiles 1st came
into existence they were referred to as 1G,then after some more elaborate and
distinctive features the technology came to be known as 3G
 3G is the third generation of mobile phone standards and technology.
 The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) defined the third generation
(3G) of mobile telephony standards IMT-2000 to facilitate growth, increase
bandwidth, and support more diverse applications
 3G is a service where mobile phone user can experience seamless data transfer of
up to 2-8 MBPS.
 3G supersedes 2G technology and precedes
4G technology
However, to get from 2G to 3G, mobile operators had make
"evolutionary" upgrades to existing networks while
simultaneously planning their "revolutionary" new mobile
broadband networks .
How is 3G different from the
traditional mobile services?

 With traditional mobile phones, like some basic Nokia models

which you can get for some US $30, you can make and receive
calls, send text messages, use it as a clock, alarms, etc.
 But if you have 3G connection and good handset like an
iPhone 3G, you can do great things on the move. If you need
to see your or friends, you can make a video call.
GREAT SERVICE OF 3G
 Video call,
 Live TV,
 High speed connectivity,
 Web and WAP browsing at higher speed
 Enhanced audio and video streaming,
 Internet access in laptop and desktop,
 Video chatting &
 Live video conferencing.

ADVANTAGES OF 3G
 with 3G you are constantly online and
basically pay for the information you receive.
 Circuit switch methods (channel allocation is
done in this mode).
WHAT DOES 3G COST
3G is not very cheap, but it is worthwhile for
users that need connectivity on the move.
Some providers offer it within a somewhat
costly package, but most of them have plans
where the user pays for the amount of data
transferred. This is because the technology is
packet-based. For example, there are service
plans where there is a flat rate for the first
Gigabyte of data transferred, and a per minute
cost for each additional Megabyte.
