FINDINGS & 7
OBSERVATIONS
During the Covid-19 period Edelweiss managed to close great deal in insurance products as people were very
cautious about their health and edelweiss insurance product was covering expenses for Covid- 19 treatments.
During this period a huge number of increment was seen in terms of opening Demat a/c as many stock were
undervalued and people rushed to invest in stock market.
It was also observed that a large portion of people in India still don’t have any knowledge about stock market and
its function, mainly the middle and lower class of the population. Around 2 to 5 % of the total population is active
on the stock market in India.
It was also observed that the middle-class population prefers to invest their money which are backed by
government authorities such as bank, post office, LIC and government schemes.
It was found that the campaign run by edelweiss to join different professional as an Elliance Partner was a huge
success for the organization in term of the reference provide by the partners.

MAJOR LEARNINGS
Learned a great deal about the stock market and its functioning during my two months of internship.
Understood different types of insurance product available for sale and premium is calculated with the help of human live value
(hlv) formula for insurance products.
Got exposure of different types of saving avenues available in the market which includes (Saving Bank a/c, Fixed Deposit (FD),
Recurring Deposits (RD), PPF, liquids funds like (treasury bills), different government offered schemes like NSC, APY etc, and
interest offer in this all schemes.
I also gained fair knowledge of various other forms of trading like future and options (F&O), derivatives, debt market, currency,
commodities etc.
My major learning was constant interaction with different people and trying to sell Demat account to them. I had to put my best
foot forward in order to convince people to invest in the market.
Learned how portfolio (basket of shares from different sectors of the industry) is created keeping in mind the client’s preferences
and his appetite to take risk.
LIMITATIONS FACED
9
Real time interaction with clients were limited as work from home model was adopted.
There were certain constraints while interacting through virtual mode like connectivity issue because of low band-
width connection.
There were a lot of interns in this company from different colleges I think could have built or expand my network
if it was not Covid and could have also share each other’s experiences and learnings.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The feedback from client/EP after their registration at different stages is very important. So, edelweiss should
develop a feedback system wherein at regular interval they can take clients recommendation and make this
program more success.
There is nothing for the people who are new to the market and want to start with small amount of money initially.
The brokerage plans are designed keeping in mind the HNI clients.
The company may try to concentrate on tier b and c town which are rapidly growing and are the new emerging
markets. There is lots of potential in these markets.
The company may try and expands in these markets by of branch offices or franchisees. The brand awareness of
the company among people is very low as compared to its competitors, the company has to take steps to create
awareness among the people. This can be done by spending more on advertisements, sponsorship, promotions etc.
