ABSTRACT:
 Mobile computing and wireless system
are becoming more common as wireless
technology evolves.
 Many authors argue that wireless can
provide advantage and value to organisations such
as increased efficiency and effectiveness.
 Mobile communication refers to the
conversation established between two user at two
different places with their hand held equipent.
DEFINITIONS:
 Mobile computing is “taking a computer and all
necessary file and software out into the field”.
 Mobile computing: being able to use a computing
device even when being mobile and therefore changing
location.portability is one aspect of mobile computing.
 Mobile computing is also know by different names
according to its role in that context. Few (eg) Virtual
home environment,Nomadic computing,Wearable
computer.
DEVICES
Many type of mobile computing introduced
since the 1990s,including the
 Wearable computer
 Personal digital assistant/enterprise digital
assistant
 Smartphone
 Carputer
 Ultra-Mobile PC

communication.
TECHNICAL AND OTHER LIMITATION OF
MOBILE COMPUTING:
 Insufficient bandwidth
 Security standards
 Power consumption
 Transmission interferences
 Potential health hazards
 Human interface with device
FUCTIONS OF MOBILE COMPUTING:

A Computing environment is said to be mobile if

it support few of the characteristics mentioned
below.
 User mobility
 Bearer mobility
 Host mobility
 Service mobility
CURRENT MOBILE COMPUTING APPLICATION

 Airline Transportation Industries

 Railway Industries
 Manufacturing & Mining Industries
 Distribution Industry
 Banking and Financial Institutions
 Insurance & Financial Planning
 Hospitality Industry
MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
MOBILE SOFWARE DEVELOPMENT

 Mobile software development is the process of

creating software which used mobile device.
a) Platforms for multi vendor devices.
b) Platforms for single vendor devices.
ADVANTAGES

1. Selling a product or service in quicker time.

2. Reducing transaction cost from one a/c to
another streamline business processes.
3. Competitive pricing.
4. Reducing time to order for any products
5. Everything can be done through mobile internet
DISADVATAGES

1. Quality of connectivity
2. Security concerns
3. Lot of power consumption
4. Working bandwidth using here is very less.
SOME OTHER FEATURES:

* Application framework enabling reuse and

replacement of components
* Dalvik virtual machine optimized for mobile
devices
* Integrated browser based on the open source
WebKit engine
* GSM Telephony (hardware dependent)
