Plate Load Test

A plate load test was conducted to determine the bearing capacity and settlement characteristics of soil. The test involved placing a steel plate on the prepared ground surface and incrementally increasing the load on the plate using sandbags until failure occurred. Measurements were taken of the settlement under each load increment to generate a load-settlement curve from which conclusions could be drawn about the soil's strength and compressibility.
