become what it is without the ICT?
If the Internet has disappeared and

will happen?

platform for social change.
Understand the events that ICT helped
realize it.

campaign using online resources.

EDSA (PEOPLE POWER
REVOLUTION)
-this lasted from 1983 to 1986. Though radio

Pres. Marcos. It happened along EDSA road from
Feb. 23 to 25, 1986 involving 2 million Filipino
people.
EDSA DOS
Also known as 2001 EDSA Revolution that
happened from Jan. 17 to 21, 2001. It was
fuelled after the prosecutors of then Pres.
Estrada walked out of impeachment trials. As
a result, the crowd in EDSA grew over a
course of a few days through text brigades.
MILLION PEOPLE MARCH
This is a series of protest that took place in
Luneta Park from Aug. 22 to 26, 2013. It’s
goal is to condemn the misuse of the Priority
Development Assistance Fund(PDAF). The
total attendees was around 400,000. The
organizers and promoters of the event used
Facebook and Change.org as their medium.
YOLANDA PEOPLE FINDER- The
devastating typhoon gave birth to the people
finder database powered by Google. It was a
vital tool for people across the globe to track
the situation of their relatives. This proved
successful and is now adapted by more
organizations to help track people during
calamities.

anyone from the online community can create petition and
ask others to sign it.
Its mission is to help people from around the world create
the change they want to see.

feedback (comment, suggestions or
reactions) be it positive or negative how
would you respond?
As you manage your page, you will
encounter different behaviours of
people in Social Media. According to
Rebecca Dye, a social media manager
at First Direct, there are 12 Different
Behaviours in Social Media
12 Different Behaviours in Social Media

Happily, admit their obsession. (14% of Facebook
users spend at least 2 hours a day on the network.

participate themselves. (45% of Facebook users described
themselves as “observers”).
12 Different Behaviours in Social Media

Each group will create a short story
depicting the different behaviours of netizen
in social media.
The story must be able to give a moral
lesson to the reader.
(strictly no copying from the Internet!)
“Most people using social media
will display a combination of
those personality types and they
may even behave differently on
Facebook than how they behave in
social media.”

Create a Facebook page for your Social
Campaign out of the Concept Paper.
You can also add images or infographics to
your page. Share your page to your friends
for them to like it and send your Facebook
