Manpower is defined as the total of
number of individuals who are employed
in a company or available for a particular
project assignment or work. In an
organization the manpower needs for a
particular work and in the future is
estimated and planned through different
techniques available. This concept is called
Manpower Planning.
STEPS IN MANPOWER
DEVELOPMENT

1. Develop a human resources strategy or plan.


Determine how your employees fit into the overall
plan for your company. Figure out which areas of
your business need the most talented people. Set up a
strategy to help individuals develop to fill those roles.
2. Train new employees as they hired. Employees tend
to struggle when they don’t know exactly what they
are supposed to do. If you take the time to train them
either through a seminar , class or other method it can
improve the quality of their work.

3. Identify employees who have the best chance to move
up. Not every employee you hire will end up in a
management role. Look for qualities such as leadership,
integrity, self - dicipline and the desire to excel.
4.Encourage managers to develop their employees.
5.Focus on continuing education for your employees. If
you put an emphasis on helping your employees
develop, they’ll most likely be more loyal toward the
company and you will be able to retain them more
easily.

because there are more people to handle task. As a result,
workers usually are less stressed and more rested and alert.
