How to update Profile
This week, you will have to update your profile and write a diagnostic before we begin the
course:

Steps for doing this are below:

1.  Log in to Moodle rooms.

2. Click on “My Settings” in the upper right-hand corner where you can introduce yourself and
add your picture.

3. Then Click on “My Profile”.

4.  Click “Edit Profile” and type a paragraph about yourself and your preferred e-mail address.

5.  Click “Save” and then add a “Picture” to help identity yourself. It maybe easier to upload
your picture on your smartphone or droid

What is a noun
noun/noun phrase?
-A noun is a subject that represents
a person, object, or thing that has
an article

-A noun phrase is a group of words


that represents an idea or concept
with other nouns and adjectives
but usually begin with an article or
determiner
1. In sentence 2, we are talking about
the strength of 'any' earthquake, so we
use the indefinite article a or an. In
this case, we use 'an'
because earthquake begins with a
vowel sound.  

2. When the
noun, damage, is
a non-count noun
so we use much.
1. Count nouns can be singular and plural

• A count noun is often preceded by a determiner that


give additional information-’an earthquake’
• Determiners include a/an/the and quantifiers many/a
