The Pygmalion effect, or Rosenthal effect, is the

phenomenon whereby higher expectations lead


to an increase in performance. ... A corollary of
the Pygmalion effect is the golem effect, in
which low expectations lead to a decrease in
performance; both effects are forms of self-
fulfilling prophecy.

BODY SMART

Body smarts (or bodily-kinesthetic intelligence) is


the ability to use one's hands andbody to express
ideas and feelings or to produce and transform
objects. Bodysmarts are most often expressed in
specific physical skills such as coordination,
balance, dexterity, strength, flexibility, and speed.
MUSIC SMART

Music smarts (or musical intelligence) is the ability to


perceive, discriminate, transform, and
express musical forms. This includes being sensitive to
rhythm, pitch, melody, and timbre of music. In other
words, people who have highly developed music smarts
tend to love music and rhythmic sounds.
SELF SMART

Intra-personal intelligence is the capacity to understand


oneself and one’s thoughts and feelings, and to use such
knowledge in planning and directioning one’s life. Intra-
personal intelligence involves not only an appreciation of the
self, but also of the human condition. It is evident in
psychologist, spiritual leaders, and philosophers. These young
adults may be shy. They are very aware of their own feelings
and are self-motivated.
PEOPLE SMART

Interpersonal intelligence is the ability to understand


and interact effectively with others. It involves effective
verbal and nonverbal communication, the ability to note
distinctions among others, sensitivity to the moods and
temperaments of others, and the ability to entertain
multiple perspectives.
SPIRIT SMART
