    password for a local account
    CONTENTS If you forgot your Windows 10 password, the easiest way to get back into your computer
    is to reset the password. Here are 3 ways to do that without reset PC.

    3. Remove forgotten password using a Windows Password Refixer (Paid)

    If you added security questions when you set up your local account for Win
    dows 10, then you have at least version 1803 and you can answer security q
    uestions to sign back in.
    After you've entered an incorrect password:
    Select the Reset password link on the sign-in screen. If you use a PIN instead, see PIN sign-in issues.

    1. Answer your security questions.

    2. Enter a new password.

    3. Sign in as usual with the new password.

    You’ll need to boot from Windows 10 installation media to do this.

    First, you’ll need to create Windows 10 installation media on a USB drive or DVD. Once you have, change the boot
    order in your BIOS to make it boot from your Windows 10 installation disk.

    Once the setup begins, press Shift+F10 on keyboard. This will bring up a command prompt.

    Replace Command Prompt with Utility Manager at the login screen 

    Execute the following commands:

    move d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe.bak


    copy d:\windows\system32\cmd.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe

    Once this is complete, use the command “wpeutil reboot” to restart the machine.

    After you’re back at the login screen, click the  Ease of Access icon, you should see a cmd.
    exe launching.

    In the Command Prompt window, type the password reset command: net user <username> <password> and
    hit Enter to change password for your Windows 10 local admin account. Once password reset is complete, close
    the Command Prompt and restart your PC, then you can sign in with new password.

    Get the utilman.exe back from cmd.exe

    1. Reboot your computer from the Windows 10 installation disk again.

    2. When you reach the Windows Setup screen, press Shift + F10 to bring up Command Prompt window.

    3. Run the command: copy c:\utilman.exe c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe. Then, type Yes and press Enter.

    4. That’s it. Remove the Windows 10 installation disk, restart computer and everything is OK now.

    Step 1: Create an iSumsoft bootable USB drive.

    1. On any accessible computer with internet access, download and install iSumsoft Windows Password Refixer.
    2. When the installation is complete, launch this tool.
    3. Choose USB device.
    4. Connect a USB flash drive, select it and then click Begin burning.
    5. After burning successfully, it means the password reset disk has been created successfully.

    Step 2: Boot your locked PC from the password reset disk

    1. Connect the USB flash drive to your locked PC.


    2. Turn on the PC and press the key (Esc/F10/F12) that opens the boot-device selection menu for the computer.
    3. Select the option that boots the PC from the USB flash drive.
    4. When the Windows Password Reset wizard comes up.
    Step 3: Follow the steps guide on the screen to reset Windows 10 password.
    1. Select a Windows
    2. Select a user
    3. Click Reset Password
    4. Click Reboot
    After the computer restarts, you can sign in witho
    ut being asked for any password.
