Networks: Year4 Computing Week 1 - Understanding Networks Mrs Saunders

A network connects two or more devices together to share resources. Devices need special networking hardware to physically connect to other devices via wired or wireless connections. A network allows sharing of files like movies, games, webpages, songs and printers between connected devices. A local area network links devices within a school to share software and storage on a central server. Wide area networks connect multiple local area networks across a larger geographic area like a town or country. The Internet is the largest example of a wide area network.
